Certified Translator
I am an English mother-tongue translator and editor with more than 30 years of experience in technical documentation and publications.
I am both an Irish national and a Canadian citizen, and have lived and worked for many years in Europe and Canada. I was educated in Ireland and Scotland, and qualified with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Languages (Interpreting and Translation) from Heriot-Watt University, having completed placements at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and École de Traduction et d’Interprétation, Geneva, Switzerland.
In the course of my career I have been a Sworn Translator at the Regional Court of Düsseldorf, Germany (1989-1995) and a Qualified Member of Institute of Translation and Interpreting, London, Britain (2000-2005). I worked for more than a decade as a freelance translator in Brussels, Belgium. I am a Certified Translator and qualified member of the Ordre des traducteurs, terminologues et interprètes agréés du Québec (OTTIAQ) and the Bundesverband der Dolmetscher und Übersetzer (BDÜ).
I provide a reliable, flexible and customer-oriented service and guarantee strict adherence to delivery deadlines. As an independent translator, I communicate directly with my clients and listen intently to the brief. I only accept projects that are within my areas of experience and expertise, and revise all projects thoroughly. If your project is outside my experience, I have a wide network of translator colleagues in Europe and North America to help you find a solution for your communication needs efficiently, speedily and cost-effectively.
